BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1985 and living in Taipei, Kris Huang is an artist who works with materials such as wood, canvas, pigment and body to explore the cyclic relationship between creation and destruction, construction and deconstruction.
Painting played an important role in her personal artistic journey, and is the main reason that motivated her to study abroad and keep questioning the meaning of painting during her MA fine art course in London. She investigates two and three-dimensional boundaries and physically challenge the traditional idea of a representational picture plane through destruction and reconstruction.
Her body of work is the reflection of a rebellious mind confronting people's preconceptions. She explores possibilities by breaking the rules, thinking outside the box and acting outside the system. The outcome always illustrates the potential for freedom.
